Anyway, I just realized a huge bonus to printing on photo paper. Ready? You sure? It changed my life ;)...
You can use dry erase markers on the photo paper!!!
This means that you can write notes on the apostle cards, count the number of times each of the gospel related words is said during conference (included in my printable is a list of 70+ topics that are great to be continually studying straight from LDS.org!). You could also just let the kids have fun with some markers to get familiar with what each apostle looks like. We will be compiling these into a book after conference with a hole punched in the top left corner and a ring or ribbon to tie them together. Sacrament meeting and family home evening will be so enriched by inviting these leaders into our homes!
So, without further ramblings, here is the link for the updated printable cards!

Because of the super awesome find that photo paper works with dry erase markers, I will be making a printable quiet book for Sacrament meeting which includes games such as tic-tac-toe and other fun games! Anything you would like included in a printable quiet book? Leave a comment!
I just printed these off at our Walgreens-thank you so very much for putting this together. Going to attempt this with my almost 4 year old and thanks again for putting this together-it is great!!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE these! I tried to print them at Wal-Mart, but they wouldn't let me get them because of copyright issues. Has anyone else had this problem?
ReplyDeleteHi Julianne,
DeleteI know you posted months ago, but I am just getting back to blogging and figured better late than never!. I have a terms of use that you can print out to take to Wal-Mart. Check this post: http://ourhandshishands.blogspot.com/2013/10/terms-of-use.html
Thanks for stopping by!
These are really awesome. And I LOVE the idea of a quiet book! Maybe include a podium with a place for them to draw the speaker?
ReplyDeleteYah I get my pics at costco and what size do you print them on. You said you cut them in half to get 3x4, but you would have to print an 8x10, at walmart that was going to cost $30 for the album.
ReplyDeleteHi Niki,
DeleteI just got back to blogging and I wanted to respond (better late than never?) I can email you a link to the Costco album if you send me an email at adrnielsen {at} gmail.com. I print them as 4X6's. You'll then cut down the middle from top to bottom leaving a card that is 4" high X 3" wide. Hope that helps and thanks for stopping by!
Yay! I am back to blogging! For anyone still wanting the Apostle Cards from Costco- I will need you to email me at adrnielsen {at} gmail.com Their website doesn't let me share directly but I know you'll love them!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing this! I'm looking for Conference activities for the kiddos and everything seems so time consuming. Then I found your blog (via Pinterest) and all I had to do was click the link. Amazing!

ReplyDeleteSuzanne, I am so sorry they are not working. I checked the generic upload link and they are working on my end. I am more than happy to send you the Costco link if that would help. Just let me know.
DeleteThanks,
Ashley
Is Shutterfly an option? Is that what the generic upload option is for?
ReplyDeleteI would love to have these for my kiddo's - can you send me the information to have them printed at Costco? Thanks missterrie67@msn.com
ReplyDeleteI love these! Thank you for sharing. There is an error on Elder Neil L. Andersen's card, though. He was ordained April 2009, not October 2004.
ReplyDeleteWE LOVE THESE (we printed them a few years back and I am super impressed with how well it helps me kids to identify who is who)! Thank you! Do you happen to have the new apostles included? Could you email me that file? ttmom 42 at yahoo dot com
